 iopian boy\, Shlomo\, who is transported to Israel as part of Operation Mo
 ses. The boy is an orphan\nand is not Jewish. He conceals his identity and
  is eventually adopted by an Israeli family. Shlomo is\nmistrustful at fir
 st\, but ultimately forms strong bonds with his family\, who are indignant
  at the racism\nand xenophobia he faces from some Israelis. But he can nev
 er forget his biological mother in Africa\nand turns to an Ethiopian spiri
 tual leader in Israel to help him cope with his internal conflict. The fil
 m’s\ngrand sweep follows Shlomo as he grows up\, falls in love and serve
 s in the army\, but he is plagued\nby doubts about himself. His life begs
