DESCRIPTION:\n\nDr. Mora’s book “Carrying a Big Schtick” is a book th
 at dissects notions of Jewish\nMasculinity and its perception and practice
  in America in the 20 th Century through\nthe lenses of Immigration and Cu
 ltural History\, tracing Jewish Masculinity through\nmajor themes and even
 ts including both World Wars\, the Holocaust\, American\nZionism\, Israel 
 Statehood and The Six Day War. This work establishes that the\nstruggle of
  this process can shed light on the changing dynamics in Religious\,\nSoci
 al\, and Economic American Jewish Life.\n\nDr. Mora holds her PHD in Immig
 ration and Ethnic History as well as a Masters in Holocaust and\nGenocide 
 studies. Her research addresses Anti-Semitism\, Nationalism\, Jewish Histo
 ry\, Jewish\nGender\, Holocaust Representation\, Migration and Masculinity
 .\nDr. Mora has taught at several institutions and currently serves as the
  Director of Programs for the\nCenter for Jewish History in Manhattan\, ov
 erseeing public and academic programs in this new\nposition at the Wyner J
 ewish Heritage Center. Dr. Mora has served as the inaugural Historian in\n
 Residence for the Wyner Family Jewish Heritage Center at the New England G
 enealogical Historical\nSociety and as the\n\nMarcus Center Fellow at the 
 American Jewish Archives. She is the cocreator of “JewCE :The Jewish\nCo
 mics Experience\,” a Jewish comic book and pop culture convention. Her p
 reviously published\nworks on anti-semitism\, contemporary politics\, and 
 pop culture have appeared in the Washington\nPost\, Journal of Jewish Iden
 tities\, and Journal of Feminist Studies of Religion.\n\nJoin us for what
