DESCRIPTION:What five Jewish authors are a must for every lover of literatu
 re? And how did all of these writers\, in their own unique way\, "change t
 he world?"\n\nWe will explore this questions with participants in a presen
 tation devoted to exploring the riches of the Jewish literary tradition wo
 rldwide\, as we discuss authors including Franz Kafka\, Sigmund Freud\, Pr
 imo Levi\, Hannah Arendt\, Philip Roth and more!\n\nProfessor Luzzi will s
 how how these great authors help us understand some of the most pressing c
 oncerns today\, such as the nature of religious faith\, questions of perso
 nal identity\, even the quest for the "American Dream."\n\nJoseph Luzzi\, 
 who received his PhD at Yale\, is currently a literature professor at Bard
  College. Previously\, he was a visiting professor at the University of Pe
 nnsylvania\, where he received the Scaglione Prize for his teaching. He is
  also the author of the audio course\, "The Art of Reading." He is the aut
 hor of five books and his writings have appeared in the New York Times\, T
 he London Times\, the Chronicle of Higher Education\, among others.\n\nJoi
