SUMMARY:ROSH HASHANAH Day\, Morning Service (Shaharit)
DESCRIPTION:&nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\;
  &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; &nbsp\; 2022 HIGH
HOLIDAY MESSAGE FROM RABBI JAMES\n&nbsp\;\nDear Coalition Members and Gue
sts\,\nAs we begin a new year together and approach these Yamim Nora'im\,
these Days of Awe\, I\nam so grateful to be with you in-person once again.
\nSince March of 2020\, the Coalition has mostly been meeting virtually. A
lthough we\ngathered in person for Tashlich and Sukkot last fall\, we have
not been together as a\ncommunity since then. Planned in-person experienc
es were postponed as new waves of\nCOVID-19 arose in our country and aroun
d the world. Although our community has not\nbeen together for worship\, w
e have been thoughtfully and lovingly guided by our board\nand dedicated v
olunteers. And\, many members of the Coalition have returned to sharing\nm
eals\, meeting in each other's homes\, and trying to regain some semblance
of connection\nand normalcy.\nAs the Coalition leadership began to explor
e how to worship in community during the\nupcoming holiday season\, we wer
e faced with a new challenge\, maintaining the openness\nand inclusion tha
t our virtual programs allowed for over the last year\, while also returni
ng\nto in person programming that our entire membership is craving and tha
t our community\nis ready for. This year\, we will gather in person for th
e holidays\, as we remember those in\nour global community who have died.
Our Yizkor service will include prayers not just for\nour loved ones\, but
also for those we do not know who were taken over the pandemic over\nthe
last two years.\nWe also recognize that the world has been changed - likel
y permanentlv - by the\npandemic. Community Is not just those people who a
re in the room\, but also includes\nfolks in our circles of connection who
live outside of the region but consider the\nCoalition their spiritual ho
me. We are committed to maintaining engaging and\nmeaningful virtual optio
ns for those people\, and for those who are not yet\ncomfortable with larg
er in-person gatherings like the high holidays.\nI am mindful that last ye
ar\, we were also anticipating an in-person holiday gathering only\nto swi
tch at the last minute due to a significant rise in COVID-19 cases in our
region. As the\nYiddish proverb reminds us\, "humans plan and God laughs."
We will continue to plan as\nbest as we can\, and will also be responsive
to the needs of our community and the health\nand safety realities around
us. But Joyfully\, our ark will once again be opened and our\ncommunity w
ill be together to begin the new year.\nWe have so much to be joyful for t
his year\, and I could not be more excited to\ncelebrate the holidays with
you and our community. I am confident that this year's\nholiday services
will be joyful and connective. If you have questions about our health a\ns
afety protocols\, I invite you to reach out to me\, our High Holy Day Chai
rs - Leni Welte\nand Faith Drucker\, or the Coalition Leadership Committee
 . Until then\, I hope you rema\nsafe and well.\n\nJen\, Talyah\, Kol\, and
I wish each of you a joyful new year. For all of us\, I hope it brings\nc
 onnection\, fulfillment\, and rejuvenation.\n\nShanah Tovah Umetukah (A sw
eet and joyful new year)\,\n\n\n\nRabbi James\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nServices to be
held at: BRIDGEWATER CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH FRIENDSHIP HALL\n\n&nbsp\; &nb
