Welcome to the Greater Washington Coalition for Jewish Life (GWCJL or “Coalition”), a distinctive and welcoming community serving western Connecticut. Our members, both full and part-time residents, come together to explore Jewish life through tradition, learning, celebration and shared experience.
We host Friday evening Shabbat services and dinner, Jewish holiday observances, life cycle events, and programs that reflect a meaningful and contemporary approach to Judaism. Rooted in the enduring value of worship, study and acts of kindness, we create opportunities for engagement that are spiritually grounded, intellectually stimulating, and socially connected.
Our community includes people from a wide range of Jewish and interfaith backgrounds. All are welcome. If you are seeking a community that values tradition and inquiry, fosters meaningful relationships and welcomes diverse perspective, we invite you to visit us, attend an event, or reach out to learn more.
