Professor Lihi Ben Shitrit is the director of the Taub Center for Israel Studies and the Henry Taub Associate Professor of Israel Studies at the Skirball Department of Hebrew and Judaic Studies at NYU. She is also an associate professor at the School of Public and International Affairs, University of Georgia.
She is the author of Righteous Transgressions (Princeton, 2015) and Women and the Holy City (Cambridge, 2020). She holds a Ph.D, M.Phil, and M.A. in political science from Yale University and a B.A. in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University. Professor Ben Shitrit holds graduate degrees, including a Ph.D., from Yale University.She is the recipient of fellowships from Harvard Law School, the Kennedy School Middle East Initiative and University of Pennsylvania.
