Professor Joseph Luzzi received his PhD from Yale University and is the Asher Edelman Professor of Literature and Faculty Member in Italian Studies at Bard College, where he also teaches courses on film.. He is the author of five books, his most recent is “Botticelli’s Secret” which was a New Yorker Best Book in 2022.
His work has been featured throughout the media including the Guardian and National Public Radio, and he is an
active speaker internationally on art, literature and Italian culture. Professor Luzzi is the founder of the
Virtual Film Club, an online community that meets to discuss the best films ever made, from beloved
classics to contemporary masterpieces.
