The Community Social Action Committee of the Coalition (GWCJL), in collaboration with six other congregations of the Washington Council of Congregations (WCOC), has identified a social action project for consideration. WCOC has invited representatives of Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services (IRIS, irisct.org), a refugee resettlement group based in New Haven, to talk with us.
Interfaith groups across the country have joined together for these kinds of relief efforts, locally a group from St. John’s Episcopal Church in New Milord recently resettled two families and they have offered to provide guidance and support.
