How exciting…the Speaker Series is back and will be featured monthly through April 2025! Here’s
some information about our first program.

Professor Joseph Luzzi will join us to present “The Five Jewish Artists Who Changed the World.”
Joseph Luzzi received his PHD from Yale University and is the Asher B. Edelman Professor of
Literature at Bard College, where he also teaches courses on film and Italian studies. He is the
author of five books that have won numerous awards. His essays and reviews have appeared in the
New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Chronicle of Higher Education, Bookforum and American
Scholar.

Dr. Luzzi’s scholarly writing has appeared in Modern Language Notes, Modern Language Quarterly,
Raritan and in various studies on Voltaire and the eighteenth century.

Among his honors received are Dante Society of America Essay and Yale College Teaching prizes, as well as 
a National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholars award.

Professor Luzzi is the founder of the VIrtual Book Club, an international online community
devoted to exploring some of the best books ever written.
