This timely and important event is a collaboration between the Jewish Federation of Western Ct., Temple B’nai Israel Southbury and the Greater Washington Coalition for Jewish Life. At this time we reflect upon and honor the 75th anniversary of — “when the small farming community of Southbury bravely and with great determination successfully challenged and overcame a potential Nazi foray into western Ct.”
To memorialize this remarkable historic moment, a film documentary was commissioned in 2012 by a group of Southbury town leaders, including then First Selectman Ed Edelson, Rabbi Eric Polokoff of Temple B’nai Israel, and Reverend Shannon Wall of South Britain Congregational Church . Rabbi Polokoff and Reverend Wall will introduce the films “Home of the Brave” and “Honoring the Brave” and join a panel discussion alongside Ed Edelson, Rabbi James Greene (GWCJL) and Gary Jones, Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Western Connecticut.
Please join us for this special commemoration and program.
